Booking your Covid Vaccine

If you are in one of the following groups you will have been contacted by letter or text   inviting you to have a Covid  Vaccine

We operate an appointment system at our practice. To make an appointment you may telephone the practice on 01902 688500 or visit the practice and book an appointment at the reception desk. We also offer an online appointment booking facility via Patient UK.

All the doctors work varying clinic times, and the reception staff will be able to help you book with the doctor of your choice.

We would be grateful if you could notify us in advance should you wish to cancel your appointment so that it can be offered to other patients who need to be seen.

You can book a routine appointment (dependent on availability) up to 10 WEEKS in advance. This means you now don’t have to ring on the day at 8am to book a non-emergency appointment.

Appointments are available on the day for acute and urgent medical emergencies.

There are also now appointments for you to speak to a doctor on the telephone if you don’t need to be seen face-to-face. When you book one of these you will be given a time slot to be called back by a doctor.

Check in for an Appointment

When you arrive for your appointment you need to check in at reception: the quickest way is to use the computer check in system, but you can also do so with one of the receptionists at the front desk. If you do not check in, we will not know if you are waiting to be seen – and you may then miss your appointment.

Contact a Doctor

If you need to contact a doctor, but do not feel you need an appointment, then you can either ring the practice, or write in. However, if the doctor feels that they need to see you to discuss the issues you raise then they will ask you to make an appointment.

If you do call in it is not always possible to speak to a doctor immediately, so we may take your details and ask the doctor to call you back later in the day when they are free. If it is a pressing problem the message will be put through to the duty doctor for that day, otherwise please specify who you would like to leave the message for.

It would help us if you could ensure that your contact details are correct, preferably with a mobile number.

Contact a Nurse

If you need to contact a nurse, but do not feel you need an appointment, then you can either ring the practice, or write in. The nurses may not be able to speak to you immediately, but we will take your details and ask them to contact you as soon as possible.


Often a woman who has an examination by a male doctor – or vice-versa - will prefer that a staff member of the same sex is present. He/she is called a chaperone.

We want our patients to feel safe, respected and relaxed, so our policy is to ask if you would feel more comfortable with a chaperone present.

Please feel free to say yes, as it is no trouble to arrange.

Interpreter Service

We run an Interpreter clinic on Wednesday afternoons when we have a Kurdish interpreter available. Interpreters for other languages can be arranged, but we do require advance notice. We also have access to an interpreter service over the phone.


If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.

Patients who miss appointments, without cancelling with adequate time for us to re-use the appointment, will be sent a letter advising them of out missed appointment policy. After two more missed appointments (of any of our clinical team) you may be asked to find another GP, and removed from our list as we have to assume we are no longer providing the care you want.
